  If your Icom Repeater has no sound coming from the speaker, first, ensure the volume isn't too low by rotating the [VOLUME] control clockwise. Then, check if the squelch is closed by rotating [SELECT] counterclockwise in base operating mode. Also, verify that the audio mute function is off by pushing [MONI] (if assigned). Ensure that selective call or squelch functions like 5 tone call or tone squelch are turned off. Lastly, confirm that the front speaker is turned on using the optional CS-FR5000 cloning software.

  If your Icom Repeater's power does not come on when you push the power button, it may be due to the DC power cable being improperly connected. Ensure that you re-connect the DC power cable correctly. Alternatively, the fuse may be blown. In this case, check the cause and then replace the fuse with a spare one.

  If the output power of your Icom Repeater is too low, first, check if the output power is set to low. If so, push [HIGH/LOW] (if assigned) to select the High power. If the power amplifier protection circuit is activated, cool down the repeater or stop accessing it until it has cooled down.

  If you cannot make contact with another station using your Icom Repeater, it might be because the other station is using tone squelch. In this case, turn the tone squelch function on. Also, if the repeater is set to duplex while in base operating mode, set the repeater to simplex when the other transceiver is set to simplex.

  If the sensitivity of your Icom Repeater is low, and only strong signals are audible, the antenna feedline or the antenna connector may have poor contact or be short-circuited. Check and re-connect (or replace if necessary) the antenna feedline or antenna connector.
