Engine
For complete engine checks see also the Original Rotax Operator’s
Manual and Service Bulletins emitted by Rotax
Open the upper cowling and verify the following:
Absence of cracks on the engine base;
Integrity of cushioning pads and silent-blocks;
Check for cracks and bent pipes not to be present on the engine mounting and damage
of the welding points;
Verify integrity of the exhaust system;
Check for no friction points to be present on the piping;
Check the level of the cooling fluid and the integrity of the related system;
Check engine oil level and the integrity of the related system;
Verify integrity of the fuel system;
Check cleaning of oil, air and petrol filters;
Verify integrity of the ignition system;
Check that the air intakes for the oil cooler, water radiator, cylinder air cooling and air to
carburators are free and clear;
Close the cowling.
Propeller
Verify for cracks not to be present on the blades;
Verify for cracks not to be present on the hub.
Fuel system
Verify for the petrol return piping to function: with the engine off turn the electrical pump
on and verify for the petrol pressure to reach a value of approximately 5 inch Hg, then
disengage the pump and verify for the pressure to go down slowly.
Engage the decanter valve located on the rear lower part of the fuselage.
