1. General information
This manual describes the operations to be carried out for the appropriate inspection,
maintenance and repair of both the complete aircraft and of its main parts.
The efficiency of the aircraft and, subsequently, the safety of the flight is lined with the pilot
complying with what is described in this part of the manual.
WARNING
It has to be kept in mind that any changes carried out no matter
what part of the aircraft without written approval by I.C.P. S.r.l. will
nullify the guarantee and any liability by I.C.P. S.r.l.
Furthermore, the original parts shall have to be replaced, for
maintenance and repair, with original parts supplied by the
Manufacturer
Savannah
TM
VG and Savannah
TM
XL are ultra-light metal aircrafts almost completely manufactured
in Aluminium alloy AL 6061 T6. This alloy shows good resistance features, some simple cleaning
operations are nevertheless required. Backwater should be avoided during washing by through
drying. Furthermore, high pressure water jets should be avoided in order to prevent any
infiltrations in points which cannot be inspected or reached.
The aircrafts are not water-proof: rain can enter from the roof and expecially from passages for the
bridles for the parachute (if installed). In case of rain cover the aircraft, and ABSOLUTELY not use
siliconic or rubber materials to close passages for bridles. The bridles must be free in their
movement.
The original finishing shall remain integer for a long time if the aircrafts are periodically washed
with a wet sponge and car detergent. Always rinse thoroughly and periodically treat with good
quality non-abrasive wax. If the aircrafts are kept in a salty environment, they must be frequently
washed with freshwater and waxed.
For the cleaning of the windshield and glasses, use polycarbonate products only, avoiding any
contact with solvents or petrol, or any products with even a minimum percentage of alcohol.
Any time a self-locking nut and/or split pin is to be removed for inspection, such part(s) should be
replaced before reassembling.
CAUTION
All the maintenance and repair operations are to be reported at the
bottom of the manual
