Why is my IMO Water Pump motor tripping the overload relay?
    • K
      Kara GreenAug 13, 2025
The motor may be tripping the overload relay due to several reasons. The counter pressure or the liquid might be too high or cold, respectively. In this case, readjust the pressure relief valve to a lower value to relieve power consumption. The motor could be undersized, or there could be a fault in the electrical power supply, so check the motor and its connections. The motor overload relay might be set too low or be faulty, so readjust or replace the relay. Finally, the Y/D starter might be incorrectly set; readjust the setting of the starting sequence, ensuring the time before the motor overload relay trips does not exceed 10-15 seconds.

What causes high pressure in my IMO Water Pump?
    • K
      Kevin WhiteAug 16, 2025
High pressure in your IMO Water Pump can be caused by a pressure relief valve set too high, so readjust it. Alternatively, the oil might be too cold or have a higher viscosity than expected; in this case, reduce the pressure setting until the operational temperature is reached. Finally, high counter pressure in the discharge line can also be the reason, so check the discharge line.

Why is the flow rate of my IMO ACE3 too low?
    • V
      Vanessa JohnsAug 20, 2025
A low flow rate in your IMO Water Pump can occur if the pressure relief valve is set too low, so readjust the pressure relief valve. It may also happen if something is restricting the flow in the suction line, in which case you should check all components in the suction line, such as strainers and valves. The pumped liquid containing a significant amount of compressible gas, such as free air, can also cause low flow.

What to do if my IMO ACE3 pressure is too low?
    • T
      tcookAug 25, 2025
If the pressure of your IMO Water Pump is too low, first check the pressure relief valve and readjust it if it is set too low. Also, ensure that the counter pressure in the discharge line isn't too low due to a major leakage and check the components in the discharge line. The valve piston could be stuck in the open position, so check the valve. Something may be restricting the flow in the suction line, so check all components there. The pumped liquid might contain a significant amount of compressible gas, such as free air, so readjust the pressure relief valve and check all components in the suction line.

What to do if my IMO ACE3 has no flow?
    • M
      Mike MorrisAug 27, 2025
If your IMO Water Pump has no flow, make sure that the pump is primed. Also, the pressure relief valve might be set below the counter pressure, so readjust the pressure relief valve to a value above the counter pressure.

How to troubleshoot noise and vibrations in IMO ACE3?
    • B
      Brittany PorterAug 31, 2025
Noise and vibrations in your IMO Water Pump can be caused by several factors. The flow to the pump might be insufficient. Check for pipe vibrations in the pump connections if the pipe work is insufficiently supported. Bad alignment can also cause these issues, so check the alignment. Air leakage into the suction line or free air in the liquid can also be the reason. For pumps with Tuning: Adjust the Tuning. Finally, a faulty electrical supply can contribute to noise and vibrations, so check all three phases of the supply.

Why my IMO Water Pump cannot be primed?
    • B
      baldwinedwardSep 4, 2025
Your IMO Water Pump may not be priming due to several reasons. The direction of rotation could be wrong. The suction line might not be open, or the pressure drop in the suction line could be too high. There could be major air leakage into the suction line. The pump might not be able to evacuate the air through the discharge line due to excessive counter pressure. Check all components in suction line and check the suction line. The inlet condition should be checked with a vacuum gauge at the pump inlet.

How to correct the wrong rotation direction of IMO ACE3?
    • L
      Lindsey JohnsonSep 8, 2025
If your IMO Water Pump has the wrong direction of rotation, it is likely that the electric cables to the motor are wrongly connected. Reverse the terminal connection on the electric motor. Connecting and disconnecting of electric cables must be done only by personnel authorized to do such work.
