4 PUMP INSTALLATION
4.1 INSTALLATIONINTOPIPELINES
Pumpisprotectedwithadoubleboxduringtransport.Itcanbeliftedfromtheboxwithinternalhandlesorbylifting
itbytheheatsink.
Pumpsaredesignedtobebuiltinconnectingflanges,usingallscrews.Theconnectingcombinedflangesaredesigned
sothepumpcanbeinstalledinPN6orPN10nominalpressurepipelines.Becauseofthecombinedflangedesign,
washersmustbeusedonthepumpside,wheninstallingthepump.
Forapumptooperatewithminimalvibrationsandnoiseitshouldbeinstalledintopipelineswithits1‐1axisin
horizontalposition,asshowedinfigure1.Pipesshouldbewithoutcurvesforatleast5‐10D(D=ratedpipediameter)
fromtheflanges.
Desiredheadorientationcanbeachievedbyrotatingthepumphead(allowedpositionsshowninfigure2and3).
Pumpheadismountedtohydrauliccastingwithfourscrews.Byunscrewingthose,thepumpheadcanthenbeturned
(figure4).
Ambientaroundthepumpshouldbedryandilluminatedasappropriateandthepumpshouldnotbeindirectcontact
withanyobjects.PumpsealspreventsdustandparticlesfromenteringasprescribedbyIPclass.Makesurethatthe
distributionboxcoverismountedandthatthecableglandsaretightenedandaresealing.
Pump will provide the longest lifetime with ambient at roomtemperature and moderate medium temperature.
Prolongedoperationatelevatedtemperaturescouldincreasewear.Aging isacceleratedbyhigh powerandhigh
temperatures.
Misconnectionoroverloadcouldcausepumpshutdownorevenpermanentdamage.
Pumpsmightbeheavy.Provideyourselfhelpifneeded,
Pumpmustnotbeusedinthesafetypipelines,
Pumpshouldnotbeusedasaholderduringwelding!
Whenreassembling,careshouldbetakentoensuresealfit.Failingthat,watercouldcause
damagetopumpsinternalparts,
Drainsbetweenpumpmotorhousingandhydraulichousingmustbeleftfree(shouldnot
bethermallyinsulated),asitcouldinterferewithcoolingandcondensedrainage,
Hotmediumcancause burns! Themotorcanalsoreach temperatures thatcouldcause
injury.
