STEP 10: Testing for gas leaks
1 Use a leak detection solution.
OR
Make a two to three ounce leak detection solution (one part liquid dish washing detergent and three parts water).
2 Make sure that your fire table valve is OFF.
3 Apply several drops of the solution where the hose attaches to your fire table.
4 Apply several drops of the solution where the hose attaches to the regulator and where the regulator connects to the
tank.
5 Turn the tank valve ON.
6 If bubbles occur, turn OFF the tank valve, then:
If the leak is at the hose/regulator connection, tighten the connection and perform another leak test. If you continue to
see bubbles, the hose should be returned to the place of purchase.
If the leak is at the regulator/tank valve connection, disconnect, reconnect, and perform another leak check. If you
continue to see bubbles after several attempts, the tank valve is defective and should be returned to the tank’s place of
purchase.
WARNING:
Perform all leak tests outdoors.
Extinguish all open flames.
NEVER leak test when smoking.
Do not use your fire table until all connections have been leak tested and do not leak.
WARNING: Whenever gas connections are loosened or removed, you must perform a complete leak test.
