3.13. Arming and Takeoff
Note: Before rstight, it is very important that the compass is calibrated. This is
a one-time calibration that will only need to be performed if the vehicle travels
across time-zones. Instructions on Compass calibration can be found in the
previous section.

Red Flashing: Error - See QGroundControl for error message details, or reboot
vehicle.
1. Before arming, wait for the triangular light on the GPS module to turn green,
indicating that the flight controller has obtained a suitable GPS signal. It will also
automatically enter position flight mode when this happens.
2. Arm the drone byipping the arm switch to the upward position. The motors will
start spinning immediately.
3. Takeoff by slowly raising the throttle. The throttle must be raised above the
midpoint. Continue raising the throttle and the drone will take off.
Caution: If the drone begins to tip over on takeoff, immediately lower the
throttle and disarm. If this occurs, it is likely that a propeller was installed on a
wrong motor, or an ESC is not calibrated properly. Contact Inspired Flight for
diagnostic instructions.
3.14. Landing and Disarming
1. To land the aircraft (in position mode), simply lower the throttle completely until
the drone has landed. Be sure the landing site is level and clear of obstructions. If
the takeoff and landing locations are the same, the aircraft will slow itself before
landing. If the vehicle is landing at a location with a different elevation than
takeoff, it is recommended to reduce throttle on landing.
Landing the aircraft (in return mode) is much simpler. The drone will return to the
pilot on its own and will land at the takeoff location. This ‘home’ location is
automatically set before takeoff. When landing, the drone will slowly descend, so
please ensure that the set home location is level and clear of obstructions. If it is
dangerous to land in the home position, moving the control sticks at any time
during the return will give control back to the pilot. Another option is to switch
the controller back to ‘Position’ mode. In this scenario the aircraft will hover in
