How to fix a pilot light that won't ignite on my Intertek TASMAN EP & HP Indoor Fireplace?
    • J
      josefordAug 11, 2025
If the pilot on your Intertek Indoor Fireplace won't light after repeatedly pressing the piezo ignition button, there could be several reasons. First, check if there's a spark at the electrode; if it's weak or nonexistent, align the electrode with a 1/8” (3mm) gap to the pilot hood. Also, ensure that the gas supply is on by checking the shut-off valves. A bent gas line can cause low pressure, so inspect for kinks. Finally, make sure the valve control knob is fully depressed in the “PILOT” position.

Why is there soot on the glass of my Intertek TASMAN EP & HP?
    • G
      Gina TownsendAug 15, 2025
Soot deposits on the glass of your Intertek Indoor Fireplace may indicate that the air inlet is blocked or restricted. Clean the air inlets to resolve this. Also, the vent system might be restricted or inadequate. Confirm that the venting and termination are those which are approved with the appliance.

Why does the flame lift off the burner and burn blue on my Intertek TASMAN EP & HP Indoor Fireplace?
    • F
      freemanvanessaAug 20, 2025
If the flame on your Intertek Indoor Fireplace burns blue and lifts off the burner, it could be due to insufficient combustion air. Make sure that no foreign material blocks the air inlets and that the vent is adequate. Alternatively, the manifold pressure may be set too high; check the manifold pressure. A restricted vent system could also be the cause, so check the vent system.

Why does the pilot light keep going out on my Intertek TASMAN EP & HP?
    • S
      Shelby WalkerOct 31, 2025
If the pilot won't stay lit on your Intertek Indoor Fireplace, it could be due to a weak or improperly located pilot flame. Try adjusting and cleaning the pilot to ensure the flame impinges on or engulfs the thermocouple. Other potential causes include a defective thermocouple (which would need replacing), improper thermocouple installation (ensure tight wire connections and full insertion into the mounting bracket), an open wire connection in the pilot circuit (check wire continuity and connections), or a defective valve. To check the valve, connect the millivolt meter probes to the thermopile terminals on the gas valve, turn the valve to the “PILOT” position, depress, and light. If the meter reading is seconds, the thermopile is good. If the pilot does not stay lit, the valve is defectiv...

What to do if the main burner won't light on my Intertek Indoor Fireplace?
    • C
      Charles BrooksNov 4, 2025
If your Intertek Indoor Fireplace main burner won't light, first, ensure the valve control is in the “ON” position. Check for any blockage at the burner, line, or ports and clean the orifice if necessary. A defective wall switch or thermostat could also be the culprit; conduct a continuity test or jumper wire test and replace if defective. Inspect the wiring and connections for defects, using a jumper wire test to repair as needed. Excessive thermostat wire length (over 100 feet) can also cause issues, so reduce the length or increase the wire size. Ensure the wall switch or thermostat is correctly wired. If none of these steps work, the valve may be defective. To check, turn the valve and “ON/OFF” switch to the “ON” position and check with a millivolt meter at terminals TP-TH. The meter s...
