Questions and Answers

Why is my Intex Krystal Clear SF15220 filter not pumping water or has very slow flow?
    • K
      Kelli FernandezAug 18, 2025
Several issues could cause this. Check for clogged inlets or discharge and clear any obstructions in the intake hose. Inspect the intake line for air leaks by tightening hose nuts and checking for damage, and ensure the pool water level is adequate. Clean the pre-filtering basket more often if the pool is excessively dirty. Backwash the filter if the sand media is clogged with dirt. Ensure the nozzle and strainer connections are not reversed; the nozzle should be at the upper position of the pool inlet, and the strainer at the lower position of the pool outlet. If there's crusting or caking on the filtering sand surface, remove about 1' of sand if necessary. Finally, remove any pool vacuuming device attached to the system line.

    • K
      Kaitlyn CortezAug 20, 2025
Check if the water level is low and fill the pool to the correct level. Clean the strainer screens at the pool inlet. Ensure there are no air leaks on the intake hose by tightening the hose nuts and checking for damage.

What to do if my Intex Water Pump filter motor fails to start?
    • S
      Stephen JonesAug 22, 2025
First, ensure the line cord is plugged into a 3-wire outlet protected by a Class A Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter, or RCD. Check and reset the circuit breaker; repeated trips may indicate an electrical system defect requiring an electrician. Also, the motor may be too hot; allow it to cool down before restarting.

How to improve Intex Krystal Clear SF15220 filter performance to clean the pool effectively?
    • K
      kristi24Aug 26, 2025
Start by adjusting the chlorine and pH levels, consulting your local swimming pool supply store for guidance. Ensure the filter tank is loaded with filter sand according to the sand loading instructions. Verify the 6-way valve is set to the 'FILTER' position. If the pool is excessively dirty, operate the filter for longer periods. Also, clean the strainer screen at the inlet to prevent water flow restriction.

    • J
      jacksondonnaAug 27, 2025

Why is my Intex Water Pump 6-way valve/cover leaking?
    • J
      jonathangibsonAug 30, 2025
Remove the 6-way valve cover and make sure the sand tank o-ring is in place. If the o-ring is dirty, clean it with garden hose water. Ensure the flange clamp is tight using the wrench supplied.

Why is sand flowing back into my pool from my Intex Water Pump?
    • N
      Natasha BeckSep 2, 2025
This could be due to the sand being too small. Use only No. 20 silica sand with a particle size range of 0.45 to 0.85 mm (0.018 to 0.033 inches) and a Uniformity Coefficient less than 1.75. Alternatively, the sand bed may be calcified, requiring a sand change.

      olarsonSep 7, 2025
Clear any obstructions in the intake of the pressure gauge by unscrewing it from the 6-way valve.
  • R
    Rhonda HillSep 9, 2025
Why is there floating matter in my pool water with my Intex Krystal Clear SF15220 Water Pump?
    • M
      Matthew BassSep 9, 2025
This may be due to 'hard water' caused by a pH level that is too high; correct the pH level and check with your pool dealer for advice. It could also be that the chlorine content is low, so adjust the chlorine level.
