TheInvacare®UniversalLowcanbeusedforhighlyphysically
dependentclientswithheadanduppertrunkcontrol.Theslingallows
foreasyaccessforpersonalhygieneanditiseasilyappliedinboth
sittingandlyingpositions.
Thearmscanbeeitherinsideoroutsidetheslingmostlydepending
oftheclient’sabilitytotakepartinthelift.

2.Slidetheslingdownbehindthebackoftheclientinacentral
positionwiththeapertureapexalignedwiththebaseofthespine.

ofthethighandthenpasseachlegsupportundereachthigh.

unrolltheslingandrolltheclientbackintopositionon

Formaximumsecurity,crossthelegsstraps.Thiswillreducethe
riskofforwardpitchingandalsomaintainabetteralignmentofthe
hipsandlowerlimbs.Figure5.
Loopingthelegsectionstogether
Iftheclientisanamputeeorfeelsthisismorecomfortable,each
individuallegstrapcanbeplacedunderbothlegs.Ensurethatthe
clientisnotpronetospasmandtherehasbeenariskassessment
completedtoaddressthepossibilityofforwardpitching.Figure6.
