dependentclientswithheadanduppertrunkcontrol.Theslingallows
foreasyaccessforpersonalhygieneanditiseasilyappliedinboth
sittingandlyingpositions.
Thearmscanbeeitherinsideoroutsidetheslingmostlydepending
oftheclient’sabilitytotakepartinthelift.

reduceriskoffallingandtopromotefeelingsofsecurity.
2.Slidetheslingdownbehindthebackoftheclientinacentral
positionwiththeapertureapexalignedwiththebaseofthespine.
3.Sittheclientbackagainstthesling.Figure1.
4.Passthelegsupporttowardsthefrontofthechairtoeachside
ofthethighandthenpasseachlegsupportundereachthigh.

control,rolltheslingtomid-waypointandrolltheclient
toonesidetopositiontherolledupslingunderthelifted
side.Ensurethecenterofthesling(greenmark)isplaced
centrallyalongthespine.Rolltheclienttotheotherside,
unrolltheslingandrolltheclientbackintopositionon

underthelegs.
3.2Applicationofthelegsstraps
Crossedlegsstraps
Formaximumsecurity,crossthelegsstraps.Thiswillreducethe
riskofforwardpitchingandalsomaintainabetteralignmentofthe
hipsandlowerlimbs.Figure5.
Loopingthelegsectionstogether
Iftheclientisanamputeeorfeelsthisismorecomfortable,each
individuallegstrapcanbeplacedunderbothlegs.Ensurethatthe
clientisnotpronetospasmandtherehasbeenariskassessment
completedtoaddressthepossibilityofforwardpitching.Figure6.
