Overview

This document describes the IsEasy Ceramic Hob, model LT4-49, an instruction manual detailing its function, specifications, usage, and maintenance.

Function Description:

The IsEasy Ceramic Hob is a cooking appliance designed for domestic use, featuring multiple radiant cooking zones. It operates by heating a ceramic glass surface, which then transfers heat to cookware placed on top. The hob is controlled via rotary knobs, allowing users to adjust the heat intensity for each cooking zone. A key safety feature is the residual heat indicator (LED "Hot") for each zone, warning users when the surface is still hot after use. The appliance also incorporates safety systems to prevent overheating, automatically switching off hotplates if excessive heat is detected by internal sensors. An interior temperature limiter further protects each hotplate from excessive heating. For user convenience and safety, the hob includes an automatic shut-off function if no cooking time is set, if the hob is left on, or if it's not operated for two hours.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model Name: LT4-49
  • Product Size: 770x520 mm
  • Built-in Size: 740x490 mm
  • Voltage: 220 - 240V, 50/60 Hz
  • Total Power: 6700W
  • Max. Power for each cooking zone:
    • One zone: 1200 W
    • One zone: 2500 W
    • One zone: 1800 W
    • One zone: 1200 W
  • Electrical Connection: Requires a 240V 50A Double Pole Breaker. Specific wiring instructions indicate black (L1), white (L2), and green (ground) wires. Proper contact of L1 and L2 is crucial for the machine to power on.
  • Installation Requirements: A minimum of 50mm space around the cut-out hole, a worktop at least 30mm thick and made of heat-resistant material. Adequate ventilation with unblocked air intake and exit is essential, as shown in Figure 2 of the manual. A minimum gap of 760mm between the hob and any cupboard above it is required for safety.
  • Error Codes: An "E4" fault will be displayed if no heating occurs for 2 minutes after a gear is selected.

Usage Features:

  • Control: Each cooking zone is controlled by a dedicated rotary knob, with settings ranging from 1 to 11.
  • Extra Cooking Zone: The bottom-left cooking zone has an additional feature, allowing users to push its knob to switch on/off outer cooking zone circuits, presumably for larger cookware.
  • Cookware Compatibility: Most stainless steel, enamel, iron, ceramic, and copper pans are suitable. Aluminum pans are not recommended unless they have stainless steel encapsulated bottoms, as they may stain the surface. Glazed cooking utensils (glass, glass/ceramic, ceramic, earthenware) are suitable if they can withstand sudden temperature changes.
  • Cookware Guidelines:
    • Pans should have flat, dry bottoms.
    • Pans previously used on gas cookers may not be completely flat and might absorb heat poorly.
    • The pan diameter should be at least that of the hotplate.
    • Avoid dragging pans across the glass surface to prevent scratches; always lift them.
    • Never use tin foil or plastic containers, as they can melt and fuse permanently to the radiant glass surface.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Do not touch the ceramic plate after cooking, as it will be hot.
    • Do not place hot pots or pans on the keypad.
    • Do not cook on a broken cooktop; disconnect immediately and contact a qualified technician.
    • Do not use the cooktop to warm or heat a room.
    • Wear proper clothing for personal safety.
    • Ensure proper pan size to cover the heating element and improve efficiency.
    • Do not soak removable heating elements in water.
    • Clean with caution to avoid steam burns from wiping spills on a hot surface.
    • Some cleaners can produce noxious fumes if applied to a hot surface.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning:
    • Clean the radiant glass surface frequently when cool.
    • Use a damp cloth and soapy water; avoid abrasive products or pads.
    • Once a week, clean thoroughly with specific products designed for radiant cooktops.
    • Use a scraper to remove stuck-on dirt.
    • If sugar, sugary matter, or plastic is accidentally burnt on the cooktop, remove it immediately with a scraper while the surface is still hot to prevent permanent marks.
  • General Care:
    • Do not use the cooktop as a work surface.
    • Be careful with dirt or dust (from vegetables, cleaning powders, etc.) which may scratch the surface when pans are slid over it.
  • Troubleshooting & Repair:
    • Any faults must be repaired only by an Authorized Repair Service technician to maintain warranty validity.
    • Electrical connection must be carried out by a certified specialist.
    • If the cable is damaged, it should be replaced by an after-sales technician.
    • If the hob ring or a single burner does not light up, and wiring is confirmed to be correct, the hob or power board may be damaged.
    • For "E4" faults or other issues, customers are advised to contact customer service via email (service@iseasy.com) with relevant videos, pictures, and their Amazon order number for a satisfactory solution.
