The "Element type" field defines the type of element. The following types are supported by
sub-elements:
•Text
Count
Date / time
Expiration date
•Shift
•User
Serial data
To change the element's default values, click the
Properties button. See “Elements” on
page 50 for examples of property dialogs for element types.
Description
: Used for a long-hand description of the sub-element.
Data
: Contains the default data for the sub-element. Note that the Data must satisfy the
Input mask.
The Input mask defines what kind of
data the sub-element can accept.
To change it, click the
Build button.
The Build mask dialog is shown at
right.
In this example, the mask is set up
for data consisting of two digits and
up to 10 alpha-numeric characters.
The buttons along the right side of the dialog are as follows, from top to bottom:
Move up - moves the selected mask up.
Move down - moves the selected mask down.
Properties - displays the mask properties for editing.
Add - creates a new mask.
Delete - deletes the selected mask.
