Shutdown Procedures
Close the Application (double-click the X in the upper right hand corner).
NOTE: You must have the proper security level before the application will close.
When Windows® is at the desktop, select
Start, then select Turn Off Computer.
Select
Turn Off Computer (Windows® will perform its shutdown sequence).
When Windows® is done, the screen will be all white.
It is now safe to turn the power off.
Shutdowns of 1 Week to 3 Months
Disconnect the system from mains power.
Spray the appropriate maintenance spray
on a lint-free cloth and, before installing
ship cap, lightly wipe the front of the print
head to remove foreign debris.
Remove the ink bottle, close the reservoir
vent cap and install the reservoir ship cap.
Install the ship cap onto the front of the
print head.
Shutdowns of 3 Months or More
Follow recommendations for Shutdowns of 1 Week to 3 Months (above).
It is recommended that the print head system be flushed with ScanTrue® II Flush Solu-
tion and that ScanTrue® II Flush Solution be left in the print head during the storage
period. (See “Appendix C: Part Numbers” on page 83 for consumable part numbers.)
Follow instructions in document 2465-257N. Flush Solution can remain in the print
head for one year from the date of flushing.
Startup
Ensure all electrical connections are made and power up the controller.
Allow the print head to heat up and perform a visual inspection on the heads before
using.
Open the reservoir vent cap and install a bottle of ink.
Perform 3 to 5 prime cycles while the Ship Cap is installed.
Remove the Ship Cap.
Prime the print head per “Step 5: Priming the Print Heads” on page 12.
