4.3 ASSEMBLE BATTERY PACKTO MOWER ______________________________________
The battery pack (A) is designed to be easily lifted out
and replaced. This allows the mower to quickly return to
service should the batteries become discharged or fail.
Additional battery packs are available as an accessory.
See Parts & Maintenance manual.
To remove battery tray:
1. Park tractor on a solid, level area.
2. Set parking brake and remove key from switch.
3. Place mower on kickstand.
4. Push and hold battery release latch (C) down and
lower battery pack (A) onto mower.

4.4 OPERATING CHECKS ______________________________________________________
After the initial inspection, test the machine for proper
operation.
1. Test the Interlock System. (Section 4.4)
2. Start the machine and check that controls operate
as described. (Section 3.2)
4.5 INTERLOCK SYSTEM ______________________________________________________
1. The Interlock System (O.P.C.) is intended to protect
the operator and others from injury by stopping the
reel and drive mechanism as soon as the operator
releases the O.P.C. bail.
2. To test the system, the mower must have the
transport wheels attached.
a. Place mower on the kickstand.
b. Place reel switch in OFF position.
3. Start the unit and place throttle at mid-point.
a. Push O.P.C. lock-out (C) forward then push
O.P.C. bail (D) down.
b. The drive mechanism will engage and the
wheels will begin to turn.
c. Release the O.P.C. bail. The bail must come up
and the wheels must stop.
4. If the wheels begin to turn before the O.P.C. bail is
engaged or the wheels continue to turn after the
O.P.C. bail is released; shut off the power
immediately and have the system inspected and
repaired.
CAUTION
To prevent injury or property damage, place mower on
kick stand before removing battery pack.
Full battery packs weigh approximately 55 lbs. Use
proper lifting techniques when moving them.

Never operate equipment with the O.P.C. system
disconnected or malfunctioning. Do not
disconnect or bypass any switch.
