Setting the flame height
Turn the regulator anti-clockwise = small flame
Turn the regulator clockwise = large flame
Flames that are too large and flicker, as well as
flames with yellow tips signalise that the burner noz-
zles are contaminated.
Turn the regulator clockwise as far as it will go to
switch off the relevant burner.
Fully close the tank valve.
Grilling
Operate the grill for 30 minutes on the highest
level (without food) before you use it to remove
any production residue.
Before using, brush the grilling rack with a little
cooking oil.
Pre-heat the grill for a minimum of 5-10 minutes
with the lid closed. The temperature achieved
can be read off on the built in thermometer.
Always ensure that you grill with the lid closed.
Opening the lid extends the grilling time.
Direct grilling
The items to be grill are placed directly over the burn-
ers and grill at high temperatures.
Indirect grilling
For indirect grilling, the items are not placed directly
above the burners, but on the grilling rack to the side
of the burners and cooked gently at lower tempera-
tures. The grilled food doesn’t burn, remain juicier
and, in short, is more healthy.
After grilling
Turn the grill to the large flame setting for around
5 minutes to burn off any excess fat.
Switch off all burners and close the tank valve.
Allow the grill to cool down fully before closing the
lid again.
Adding Wood (Optional)
P. 8, item 1
To add wood before cooking, simply fill the wood
chip box with your choice of flavoring hardwood
chips. The amount and type of wood you use is
entirely up to you. One full box is typically enough
for 30 minutes of smoking. Once the box is filled
with wood, slide the box into the grill.
To add wood chips while cooking, pull out the
wood chip box from the grill. Dump the wood chip
ash in a metal container (Preferably with water)
to extinguish the wood chip ash. (The wood chip
box lid will stay on the wood chip box when
dumping the ash) Refill the wood chip box with
wood chips, close the lid and slide the wood chip
box back into the grill.
Using Flavoring Wood
Small wood chips work best inside the wood chip
box.
Use dry hardwoods such as hickory, pecan,
apple, cherry, or mesquite.
Most Fruit or nut tree woods produce excellent
smoke flavoring.
Do not use resinous woods such as pine or ply-
wood. These usually produce unpleasant flavor-
ing.
Experiment with different types and quantities of
wood chips. Different wood can also be mixed.
To produce more smoke and to prevent fast
burning, presoak the wood chips in a separate
bowl of water for at least 20 minutes, or wrap the
chips in perforated aluminum foil.
Most smoke flavoring occurs within the first hour
of cooking. Adding wood chips after the first hour
is typically not necessary unless extra smoke fla-
voring is desired.
Suitable gas tanks
Operation – p. 8
There are many different sizes of tank.
The figure shows the maximum tank size.
P. 9, item 3
Capacity of gas tank: Maximum 11 kg
Height of gas tank: Maximum 600 mm
Diameter of gas tank: Maximum 300 mm
Location of gas tank
P. 9, item 4
Place the gas cylinder on a flat and level floor near
the BBQ.
Ensure that the gas hose is not bent.
The gas hose may be a maximum of 1500 mm in
length.
The hose and the pressure regulator
P. 10, item 5
Must be suitable for liquid petroleum gas
Must be able to withstand the pressure listed
above
The hose may not be longer than 1500 mm.
The scope of delivery of the gas BBQ grill con-
tains a single adapter designed to make a direc-
tion connection between the hose/pressure regu-
lator and the gas grill.
DANGER! Risk of burning! When the grill
hood is close, never use more than two
burners on the highest setting at the same
time.
WARNING! Risk of injury! CAUTION: The
wood chip box gets very hot. Always use
protective mitts when handling hot compo-
nents.
Note: Note: We recommend lining the wood
chip box with aluminum foil for easy clean
up.
