v Close the zipper and open the upper fabric flat over
the zipper.
Baste the upper fabric and zipper tape together.

!0 Basting stitch
b Detach the foot and attach it with the pin on the left.
Backstitch across the end of opening 1 cm (3/8˝).
Turn the fabric 90 degrees and stitch through the
garment and zipper tape.
!1 Backstitch
n Stop the machine 5 cm (2˝) before the foot reaches
the slider on the zipper tape. Lower the needle into
the fabric, and raise the foot. Remove the basting
stitches.
!2 5 cm (2”)
!3 Basting stitches
m Open the zipper, then lower the foot and stitch the
remainder of the seam.
After sewing is finished, remove the basting stitches
on the upper fabric.
