Subject: Replacement of Laser Pick-up Assembly
In the event you receive a DVD600 where a Laser Pick-up Assembly replacement is warranted, the original
DVD600 mechanism is no longer available. Follow the instructions below to add a new replacement mechanism:
CAUTION: FOLLOW PROPER STATIC CONTROL PROCEDURES TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE DVD600
DURING LOADER MODULE REPLACEMENT
I) Order the following parts:
1) Laser Pick-up Ass’y (TVK15-1AA/502T) h/k part# 10733290RETRO
2) 10 wire - FCC CABLE h/k part# 55174870
3) 12 wire - FCC CABLE h/k part# 55174860
II) DVD600 Loader Module Removal
1) With the unit plugged in, turn the unit ON. Eject the tray by pressing the Open/Close button.
2) The gray front faceplate should be removed from the tray. This is accomplished by holding the main part
of the tray firmly, and pulling UP on the front faceplate; detach it and set aside. Retract the tray back into
the unit by pressing the Open/Close button again. Turn unit OFF and unplug it.
3) Remove the top cover. (10 Phillips screws)
4) Unplug all ribbon connectors (3) from the decoder PCB and Power Supply PCB that connect to the loader
ass’y. Cut any cable ties that would prevent removal of the mechanism.
5) Remove the 4 plated Phillips screws that hold the entire 5 disc CD mechanism down to the bottom panel
assy.
6) Pull the mechanism slightly up in the rear and remove the entire mechanism out the rear of the unit.
