How to troubleshoot no sound on JBL Speakers?
    • S
      Suzanne JonesAug 15, 2025
If your JBL Speakers have no sound, but the speaker comes on and the SIGNAL LED does not illuminate, it could be that the signal source (mixer, instrument, etc.) is not sending a signal. Check the VU meters on the source mixer and verify that the tape or CD is playing. Use headphones to confirm that the instrument is actually sending an audio signal. Another potential cause is faulty cables and connections. Disconnect and re-seat the signal cables, and replace any suspected cable with a known-good cable.

What to do if JBL EON10 signal sounds distorted and very loud?
    • T
      tquinnAug 18, 2025
If your JBL Speakers are producing a distorted and very loud signal, and the PEAK light is frequently on, it indicates that the input signal is too high for the speakers to handle. To resolve this, reduce the output level from the source, lower the LEVEL controls on the speaker, or consider using additional EON speakers.

Why do my JBL EON10 hum or buzz when I move the mixer level controls?
    • K
      Kayla ParkerAug 22, 2025
If you're experiencing hum or buzz from your JBL Speakers that changes when you adjust the mixer level controls, it could be due to an improper A/C ground or faulty equipment connected to the mixer input. Try disconnecting or muting channels one at a time to find the source of the problem. Refer to the owner’s manual of the faulty equipment for troubleshooting help. Another cause might be a faulty cable between the source equipment and the mixer; try substituting it with a known-good cable.

Why do my JBL EON10 Speakers have a hum or buzz?
    • Y
      Yvette MayerAug 26, 2025
If your JBL Speakers are producing hum or buzz, it may be due to improper A/C grounding or ground loops. Try connecting all speakers to a common power circuit. You can also try 'telescoping' the audio ground by using an XLR/F to XLR/M adapter with Pin 1 disconnected, and re-route audio cables away from AC power and lighting cables. Another cause could be an excessively long unbalanced cable run. Use the balanced outputs (if available) of your mixer or source equipment to drive your EON speakers or use a “DI” (direct injection) box to convert your unbalanced equipment output to a balanced output. It may also be due to improper system gain structure. Reduce the INPUT 1, LINE 2, and LINE 3 controls and increase the output level of your source devices.

How to stop JBL EON10 from feedbacking and howling?
    • R
      rwilliamsonAug 28, 2025
If you are experiencing feedback and howling from your JBL Speakers when the microphone volume is turned up, it could be because the microphones are pointed towards the speakers. Adjust the speaker placement so they do not point into the microphone's pick-up pattern. Incorrect equalizer settings can also cause feedback. Locate the feedback frequency and reduce it using the mixer EQ or an external equalizer. Excessive gain may also be the cause. Reduce the gain at the mixer and move the microphone closer to the sound source.

Why do my JBL EON10 Speakers have lots of hiss in the sound?
    • M
      Megan LeAug 31, 2025
If you are experiencing a lot of hiss in the sound from your JBL Speakers, and the mixer controls are at very low settings, it may be due to improper gain structure or a noisy source device. Ensure that the MIC/LINE switch is in the LINE (disengaged) position. Reduce the LEVEL settings at the speaker. Review the Owner’s Manual for your mixer and adjust controls as needed.

What to do if JBL EON10 signal sounds distorted at moderate volumes?
    • B
      Bonnie MejiaSep 4, 2025
If your JBL Speakers' signal sounds distorted even at moderate volumes, and the PEAK light is not lit, the mixer or another source might be overdriven. Check the Owner’s Manual for your mixer and adjust controls as needed, paying attention to input sensitivity (gain), channel faders, and master faders. Then, review the instructions in the Quick Start section of this guide.

Why do my JBL EON10 Speakers have noise or hiss at the output?
    • C
      Crystal GraySep 7, 2025
If you hear noise or hiss at the output of your JBL Speakers, it could be due to a noisy source device. Try disconnecting the devices connected to your speaker one at a time. If the noise disappears, the problem lies with the source or the connecting cable.

What to do if JBL Speakers have no sound with microphone connected?
    • C
      Courtney WhitakerSep 12, 2025
If you're not getting any sound when connecting a microphone directly to the MIC / LINE 1 input on your JBL Speakers, and the SIGNAL LED does not illuminate, it could be that the microphone requires phantom power. The EON10 G2 does not supply phantom power. Switch to a dynamic microphone, use a battery in the microphone (if possible), or use an external phantom power supply.
