Changing the Engine Fuel Filter Element
1 Get access to the Water Separator and Engine Fuel
Filter. Refer to Water Separator and Engine Fuel
Filter, Introduction.
2 Thoroughly clean the outside of the filter housing and
around the filter head.
3 Loosen the drain tap B and allow the fuel to drain into
a suitable container.
4 Remove the low pressure fuel lines C and E. Mark the
pipes prior to removal to ensure they are refitted in the
correct position.
5 Loosen the filter strap retaining screw D and lift the
filter clear.
6 Fit new filter element A, make sure that the filter is in
the correct position to enable connection of the fuel
lines. Torque tighten the filter strap retaining screw D
to 24Nm (17.7lbf ft).
7 Reconnect the fuel lines C and E.
