  Excessive vibration in your Jet Lathe can stem from several causes. The workpiece might be warped, out of round, have a major flaw, or was improperly prepared for turning; correct this by planing or sawing the workpiece, or discard it and use a new one. Worn spindle bearings or a worn drive belt can also cause vibration, so replace them as needed. Check if the motor mounting fasteners are loose and tighten them. Lastly, ensure the lathe is on a flat surface.
