The JetSurf Factory GP is a motorized power board designed for water sports, offering an exhilarating experience on sheltered coastal waters, small bays, lakes, rivers, and canals. This user manual, comprising parts A and B, provides comprehensive instructions for its operation, maintenance, and safety.
The JetSurf Factory GP is powered by a two-stroke, horizontal, single-cylinder MSR 50.2 engine, specifically developed for JetSurf. The engine is water-cooled and features an electric starter. Fuel is supplied from a dedicated fuel tank, and exhaust gases are expelled through an exhaust system. An Ignition Control Unit (ICU) manages the engine's ignition and provides diagnostic feedback through an LED indicator. The board is controlled via a handle, which includes a throttle trigger, an engine shut-off switch, and an engine shut-off key. Fins (side and main) are attached to the board's underside for stability and maneuverability. An electric bilge pump is integrated to remove water from the internal area of the JetSurf, ensuring proper operation.
Before each ride, it is crucial to check the fuel tank for sufficient fuel, water, or fragments. The fuel system requires a specific mixture of lead-free car petrol (95 octane or higher) and MOTOREX OCEAN FS 2T BIO oil in a 50:1 ratio. Using incorrect fuel or oil can lead to engine damage not covered by the warranty. The fuel tank has an overpressure valve and a venting hose leading to the air intake.
The control handle is essential for operating the JetSurf. The engine shut-off key, attached to the rider's wrist, is a critical safety feature. If the rider falls, the key detaches, automatically stopping the engine and preventing the board from continuing its movement, thus reducing the risk of damage or injury. It is vital to never leave the engine shut-off key in the switch for extended periods (over 30 seconds, overnight, or during transport) as this can lead to battery discharge and irreversible damage. The throttle trigger on the handle controls engine output, with JetSurf recommending beginners to limit the throttle to 1/3 of its range using the provided speed limiter.
The ICU manages various operational states:
The ride duration indicator helps monitor fuel levels. It flashes green for the first 20 minutes of riding (full tank) and then purple, indicating approximately half a tank of fuel.
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and safe operation of the JetSurf.
Always transport fuel in approved canisters and avoid transporting fuel in the board's fuel tank or engine to prevent damage or injury. The user manual emphasizes the importance of adhering to all safety warnings and instructions to ensure a safe and enjoyable JetSurf experience.
