6.2. RCA CONNECTION
Using any amplier with a higher amplitude input signal signicantly
improves the signal-to-noise ratio.
For situations where the amplier is set incorrectly, for example, if the
setting is made so that at 50% of the player's volume, the amplier
provides maximum power, if the volume is raised above 50%, at the bass
peaks the amplier will be distorting the output signal (clipping), even if
in some parts of the song, it really is playing louder.
To adjust the audio with the best signal to noise ratio and minimum
distortion (THD), simply reduce the amplier's LEVEL setting to the
minimum, reducing the input sensitivity as much as possible. Then set the
player's volume to maximum and raise the amplier's LEVEL setting until
maximum power is obtained.
