The “Advanced”-tab allows users to congure miscellaneous advanced sengs for the MPA1600. This includes AGC and
speech power booster, Alarm and PA/EMPA opons, NORSOK mode, Alarm aenuaon, trimming the end of recorded
messages and alarm synchronisaon meouts.
The sound opons include the AGC (automac gain control) preset and speech power booster to make it easier to under-
stand spoken messages. The AGC can be disabled or set to tuned pre-tuned sengs for the InterM PA-93xx ampliers or the
Phontech 1670/1671 ampliers. It is also possible to set custom AGC sengs, but this requires a thorough understanding of
audio signal processing. The speech power booster is an equaliser preset designed to improve the comprehension of
spoken messages based on the most important frequencies present in speech. This can be enabled if some areas struggle
with understanding spoken messages, at the cost of a smaller dynamic range.
