Belt
Tension

An
excessive
belt tension may
damage
the mainshaft bushingof the
machineor the motor bearing. On the contrary, an insufficient belt
tension may
cause
the belt to slipwithconsequent shortenedlifeof
the belt, and alsocause-otherfailures such asoverrun after thread
trimming
and
machine
stopswith
uneven
needle
stop height.
To avoidsuch problems,usea belt of the appropriate length as
specifiedin the instruction book. Adjustthe belt tension using
nut O sothat the
center
ofthebelt
slacks
about18mm
(0.709")
when it is pressed with a finger.
3-2. Prevention
Motor
Vibration
(for

motor)
At the rear of the motor, there arehexagonbolt O and nut O
for preventing motor vibration between the table and motor base.
Adjustthe hexagonbolt so that it touches the table, then lock it
with
the
nut.

Tum
the handwheel by hand
to
bring the needle down. Turn ON the power switch, and check the rotation
direction
of
the
handwheel.
The
handwheel
should
rotate
in
its
normal
direction,
i.e.,
counterclockwise
as
observed from the handwheel side. To change the rotational direction
of
the handwheel,
tum
OFF the power
to
the
sewing
machine,
remove
screw
O in the
PSC
box and open cover O . Nowthe rotational directionof the
handwheel can be changed by using switch 0 mounted on the print circuit board located on the far side from
you. ON :
CCW
(counterclockwise)
