5.5 UPDATE OF FIRMWARE
5.5.1 Update of Main CPU Firmware
Before repairing or adjusting the projector, make sure to back up
the ROM data. The ROM data contains important data or infor-
mation, such as factory adjustment data, system time, and lamp
time.
5.5.1.1 Equipment Needed
• Windows PC [Windows XP (SP3) / Windows Vista / Windows 7]
• DD CPU Updater application (ILAFPJ2011_UP_GRADER)
• MAIN CPU Updater application (ILAFPJ2013_UP_GRADER)
• RS-232C cross cable
5.5.2 MAIN CPU update procedure
5.5.2.1 Writing SREC file by using Upgrader
NOTE:
• Before writing file, make projector in STANDBY condition by
unplug.
• NET Framework 4 must be installed in advance to use this
application.
If not, please download from Microsoft Home page and in-
stall in advance.
• If you can not write by UPGRADER, please to update the
boot loader.
(1) Set the projector to standby mode.
(2) Start up ILAFPJ2013_UP_GRADER.
(3) Select the COM port to which the RS-232C cable is con-
nected.
(4) Select the updater file.
(5) Press the [Write all flash] button to start update.
(6) It is completed when "Complete" window appears. (Takes
approx. 1 minute)
NOTE:
If any other windows than "Complete" appears, it is
failed. Please restart from the beginning again.
(7) Unplug the power cable from the projector. Check that the
LED light at the top of the front panel has turned off, fol-
lowed by plugging in the power cable again. Press the
[STANDBY/ON] button to start up the projector.
(8) Check the version in the service menu.

5.5.2.2 How to update the boot loader
Installation procedures of the application
(1) Start up Flash Magic.exe by double-clicking.
(2) Click the "Next" button.
(3) Select the "I accept the agreement" and click [Next] but-
ton.
(4) Then proceed with the wizard screen by three clicks of
the "Next" button.
(5) It automatically opens a text file of the Release Notes If
you click the "install" button at the end.
(6) Install close and exit it.
