Continuous play from deck A to B
Use the CONTINUOUS PLAY button to perform the
continuous play.
® Confrim that deck B is in the stop mode and then
operate as follows.
1. Load two cassettes to be played back in deck A
and B respectively.
*Set the A and B TAPE SELECT switches accord-
ing to the type of tape used in both decks.
i 2. Press the CONTINUOUS PLAY button. (The »
PLAY button of deck A is pressed simultaneously.)
{4 Deck A starts playback.

Prerecorded music tapes and similar tapes have non-
i recorded sections between tunes. The Music Scan
: functions by detecting such non-recorded sections (of
more than 4 — 5 seconds).

. Load in deck A the tape to be scanned.
2. Press the «<4 REW or ®&® FF button during
playback,
3. When the tape is rewound (or fast forwarded) and
the non-recorded section is detected, only the <<
REW (or »® FF) button is released and playback
will start.

3. Press the ® PLAY button of deck B before the
cassette in deck A reaches its end.

4. When the deck A is played to its end, the tape
stops automatically; at the same time the deck B
starts. playback and when the end of tape is
reached the tape stops automatically.
Notes:
1. Use the m STOP/ & EJECT button to release the
CONTINUOUS PLAY button.

the cassette operation buttons of deck B do no
function even if they are pressed,
3. When using an NR processed tape, use a tape with
the same NR processing in the other deck.
Note:
The music scan mechanism operates by detecting
non-recorded sections (with a length of 4 to 5 sec.).
In the following cases, the mechanism may not
operate correctly. This is not a malfunction; use the
mechanism according to the program,
@ Tapes with tunes having long pianissimo passages
(very quiet parts) or non-recorded portions during
tunes
@ Tapes with tunes recorded at low recording levels
® Tapes with short non-recorded sections (less than
4 sec.)
® Tapes with high level noise or hum between tunes
NR SYSTEM switch
When recording or playback the tape using noise
reduction, set to ANRS/DOLBY B (-—).
The noise reduction system in deck A functions only
in playback; the NR system in deck B functions in
playback or recording.
Notes:
1. The tapes recorded using ANRS/DOLBY B NR
must be played back through the corresponding
circuit. Otherwise proper sound quality will not be
obtained. When performing the continuous play,
use two tapes with the same noise reduction
processing.
2. We advise you to use the recommended tapes
when recording and playing back using NR
systems to get optimum performance from your
KD-W110.
