6.4.7 Motor cable lengths
ATTENTION
The permissible cable length is reduced if the minimum cross-section
of the motor connection is distributed across several cables.
Themaximumcablelengthsarespeciedfortherecommendedtypeofcable.
The permissible cable lengths depend on the number of cables per phase.
Longer cables may only be provided after consultation with KEB.
Thespeciedcablelengthsrepresenttheactualdistancebetweendriveconverter
and motor.
In case of parallel connection of motor cables, the cable capacitance is dou-
bling, which leads to higher leakage currents between drive converter and mo-
tor. These should always be kept as small as possible.
The resulting motor cable length for parallel operation of motors, or parallel installation
with multiple cables arises from the following formula:
