INDEX SCAN key

For A deck only; plays beginning of each tune for about 10 seconds.

Normal-speed dubbing key

Starts normal dubbing from Deck A to Deck B.

High-speed dubbing key

Press to increase dubbing speed from Deck A to Deck B.

B deck EJECT button

Opens the B deck cassette holder.

TAPE COUNTER and reset button

Provides means of locating passages on tape; reset to 000.

PRAK LEVEL METER

Indicates peak input levels for recording or output levels for playback.

DOLBY NR switch

Set to B or C to record or play back tape with Dolby NR.

DIRECTION switch

Controls tape travel direction: Normal, Reverse, or Endless mode.

TIMER stand-by switch

Used with audio timer for unattended recording or timer-playback.

REC LEVEL CONTROL knob

Adjusts the right and left recording levels.

Balance adjust knob

Adjusts the balance of recording levels for L/R channels.

REC indicator

Lights during recording or dubbing.

PAUSE indicator

Lights when the pause key is pressed.

Dubbing indicators

Indicates NORMAL or HIGH speed dubbing.

REC/LINE IN jacks

Connect to Tape Rec jacks of amplifier using audio cables.

PLAY/LINE OUT jacks

Connect to Tape Play jacks of amplifier using audio cables.

Connect to the system control of audio components.

Plug in to a convenient AC outlet.

Tape playback

Forward DPSS selection

Selects desired tunes by pressing fast forward or rewind keys multiple times.

Reverse DPSS selection

Selects desired tunes in reverse direction using fast forward or rewind keys.

Repeat and relay playback

Repeat playback

Repeat the tune currently being played or select and repeat a tune.

Auto reverse play back

Plays both sides of a tape automatically.

Both sides repeat playback

Plays both sides of tapes continuously.

Rewind playback

Rewinds tape and plays back from the first tune on the selected side.

Index scan

For A deck only; rapidly advances tape, playing tune beginnings.

Relay playback

Plays tapes sequentially between A deck and B deck.

Tape recording

Recording level

Determines sound quality; adjust using PEAK LEVEL METER.

How to make a blank section

Essential for DPSS; create blank sections using REC/ARM key.

Quick re-recording

Procedure to go back to the beginning of a section to restart recording.

Advanced Recording Functions

Both side recording

Continuous recording from side A to side B is possible.

Dubbing

Copies tapes from Deck A to Deck B.

High-speed dubbing

Increases the dubbing speed for faster copying.

Clean heads, pinch roller, and capstan with a cotton swab.
