3. INSTALLATION AND CONNECTION
Warning:
Never apply AC power to the DC Power Supply until
all installation and connections have been com-
pleted.
3-1. INSTALLATION
Cautions:
1. Do not place the unit in an area that is exposed
to direct sunlight, or near a heater, etc.
2. Do not store or use the unit in a dusty location or
in a moist atmosphere. Select a well ventilated
location.
3. To maintain good ventilation:
Remove all packing materials.
Do not cover the unit.
Place the unit at least 10 cm (4”) away from
the walls.
3-1-1. Mounting Bracket Installation (Mobile)
Warning:
Consider ease of operation and safety when select-
ing the location for the Mounting Bracket.
The following tools are required for installing the
Mounting Bracket.
1/6” drill for Self-tapping Screws.
No. 2 Philips Screw Driver.
1. Select a location in which to install the Mounting
Bracket.
2, Use the Mounting Bracket as a template to
locate the holes and mark four points to be drill-
ed.
Mark four points.
3. Drill four holes as marked using a 1/6” drill for
Self-tapping Screws.
4. Install the Mounting Bracket using the supplied
Self-tapping Screws (4 pcs.) and Flat Washers
(4 pcs.)

5. Attach the transceiver temporarily using the
SEMS Screws (4 pes.).

6. The angle of the Mounting Bracket may be ad-
justed to any of five (5) possible viewing angles.
Select the desired angle.
7. Hold the transceiver in place and tighten the four
(4) SEMS Screws using a wrench or screw-
driver
Warning:

Make
sure
that
the
transceiver
will
not
slip
out
of
place
while
operating
the
vehicle.
3-1-2. Stacking Plate
(TM-321A and TM-421/521 series only)
To stack the TM-321A, TM-421 series and/or
TM-521 series with the TM-221 series, connect
them with the supplied Stacking Plate.
Only one Mounting Bracket will be required so save
the other Mounting Bracket and mounting hardware
for future use.
Select the lower pair of mounting holes on the
bracket as shown in the accompanying diagram
when securing the lower radio.
