Gap
Noi se will stem from too bi g gap of the ai r valve. However i f there i s too small gap or even no gap at all,
cl osing of the valve will be hindered, whi ch will cause burn of the valve and output drop. Therefore, the ai r valve gap
must be checkedperiodically.
The gap of the ai r valve shoul d be inspected and adj usted wi th a col d engi ne by the foll owing procedures:
1.Remove the caps of the central hole and the top hole (the igni ti on timing observati on hol e)in the l eft crankcas e
cover.
2.Remove the caps of the two ai r valves on the cylinder head.
3.Insert the “T” key into the central hol e of the crankcase cover, j am i t agai nst the nut of the flyi ng wheel and
then turm the flying wheel clockw ise nutil the engraved “T” mark on the flying wheel alin\g ns with the engraved line
on the top of the crankcas e cover.Swi ng the rocki ng arm sli ghtl y.A l oose rocki ng arm(whi ch indi cates the exi stence
of cl earance) shows that the pi ston i s i n the upper stop positi on of the compressing t\stroke, where the valve can be
adj usted. A ti ght rocki ng arm means thar the pi ston i s i n the l ower stop positi on of the compressing stroke, In thi s
cas e, conti nuously turn the “ T” key cl ock wi se for 360 degrees until the ali gnment of those engravd marks, where the
valve can be adjustd,Af terwards, check the valve gap by inserting a feeler in between the valve adjusting screw and
the end of the valve.
The speci fi ed ai r valve gap : 0.05mm for the intake and exhaust valves respeci vely.
Brake Checking
(1) pull up the front andrear brakes respectively and check for wearof the brake shoes. If the mark “△”onthe
brake drum cover ali gns with that “△” on the brake cam, i t means that the brake shoes are al ready worn to the limi t
and have to be replaced.
(2) Replacement should be carried out at a desig nated service center and it is recommended that the parts made
by our company areused therein.
