Checkthevalveandactuatorforpossibledamage,boltlooseningorother
failurescausedduringtransportationorstorage.
KITZBSeriesactuatorsassembledwithKITZvalvescanbemountedonthe
horizontal or vertical piping, or at any angle, depending on the piping or
operational convenience. However, the air filter-regulator must be always
horizontallypositionedagainsttheground.
Touseanautomatedvalve withapositionerfor control services, specify
the piping positions when ordering the product. If the piping position is
changed,thecontrolpositionofthevalveshould bere-adjusted. Contact
KITZfortheoperationmanualforadjustment.
Whenapositioner isusedfor piping whichvibrates, controllability may be
impaired due to the resonance of the inside parts. Use supporters and
supportstandstofirmlyholdthevalveandactuator,especiallyinsize5or
aboveof BS/BSWactuators,and minimizetheinfluenceof vibration (See
Fig.12).
Allowsufficientspacearoundtheunitmountedonthepipeforconvenience
ofsubsequentmaintenanceorservicingwork.Aspaceof300mmupward,
500mmdownwardand300mmeachfortherightandleftisrecommended.
‐20℃ to +60℃ is the recommended range of applicable atmospheric
temperature.Takeappropriateinsulatingorcoolingmeasuresforinstallation
inloworhightemperatures.
Take appropriate measures when the unit is installed in a corrosive
(sulfurousacidgas,chlorinegas,etc.)ordustyenvironment.
Ensurethatvalvesarefree fromrust.Particularlywhencast ironorcast
steelvalvesareusedforwatersupplyline,rustmaybegeneratedandget
stucktotheseatsurfacesofthevalve.
BS and BSW actuators have breathing ports to discharge the internal
residualairtotheatmosphere.Adustcapisinstalledonthebreathingport.
Removethedustcapbefore runningtheautomatedoperation.Ifthedust
capisnotremoved,actuatorspeedmaybecomeslow.Ifanexhaustportof
the actuator which is installed outdoors is positioned horizontally to the
ground, fit an elbow and a nipple to the exhaust port to prevent the
intrusionofrainwater(SeeFig.13).
ThedeliveredKITZBSeriesactuatorsandvalvesareproperlyassembledin
the predetermined open and close positions. Do not disassemble and
changethevalveopenandclosepositions.Itmaycauseaninconsistency
betweentheactualvalveoperatingpositionandthevalvepositionindicator.
