4.3TypeBSorBSWSpring-ReturnActuator
Theairpressuresuppliedintotheport〈A〉pushesthepistontotheleftandenergizesitsmovementtorotate
thescotch-yokecounterclockwise,compressingthespring.Thescotch-yokeconvertslinearmovementofthe
piston rod to counterclockwise rotational movement of the shaft, to open or close thevalve, following the
presetmade.
Atthemomenttheairisdischargedtotheatmospherethroughthesolenoidvalve,thespringforcepushesthe
piston to the right direction, and the scotch-yoke activates clockwise rotation of the shaft to reversely
operatethevalve.Airfailurewillcausethevalvereturntotheoriginalopenorclosedpositionautomatically,
followingthepresetmode,unlikethevaluedrivenbyTypeBactuator.
TypeBSWactuatoriscombinationofTypeBSactuatorandahandwheelformanualoperation,anditsdriving
mechanismisexactlysameasthatofTypeBSactuator
