Operating instructions
1 Safety instructions
Electrical devices may only be mounted and connected by electrically skilled persons.
Serious injuries, fire or property damage possible. Please read and follow manual fully.
Danger of electric shock. Always disconnect before carrying out work on the device or load.
Danger of electric shock. Device is not suitable for disconnection from supply voltage. The load
is not electrically isolated from the mains even when the output is switched off.
Risk of destruction of the dimmer and load if the set operating mode and load type do not
match. Set the correct dimming principle before connecting or exchanging the load.
Fire hazard. For operation with inductive transformers, each transformer must be fused on the
primary side in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Only safety transformers ac-
cording to EN 61558-2-6 may be used.
These instructions are an integral part of the product, and must remain with the end customer.
The connected load and dimmer quality on LED lamps are dependent on the type of lamp
and installation conditions. The connected load of the specified values could vary. We
cannot assume any guarantee for proper function, dimming results and dimming quality.

Why do my connected LED lamps flicker with the KNX Controller?
    • J
      Jenny MillerAug 21, 2025
Flickering in connected LED lamps when using the KNX Controller can occur due to several reasons: * The lamps may not be dimmable; check the manufacturer's instructions or exchange the lamps for another type. * The dimming principle and lamps might not optimally match. For HV-LED, check operation in another dimming principle and reduce the connected load if necessary. For LV-LED, check the lamp operating device and replace it if necessary.

How to fix LED lamp dimly lit when dimmer KNX is switched off?
    • J
      jennifer43Aug 23, 2025
If an LED lamp remains dimly lit when the KNX dimmer is switched off, it could be that the LED lamp is not optimally suited for this dimmer. To resolve this, you can: * Use a compensation module (see accessories). * Try another type of LED lamp or an LED lamp from another manufacturer.

What to do if the KNX Controller output cannot be operated?
    • B
      billyshafferAug 26, 2025
If the KNX Controller output cannot be operated, it might be because the output is disabled. In this case, cancel disabling. Another reason could be missing or faulty application software. Check the programming and correct it.

Why are my HV-LED lamps too bright in the lowest dimming position with the KNX GIRA Controller?
    • J
      Jennifer LeeAug 28, 2025
If connected HV-LED lamps or compact fluorescent lamps are too bright in the lowest dimming position, and the dimming range is too small, it could be due to the following reasons: * The set minimum brightness is too high; reduce the minimum brightness. * The HV-LED trailing edge phase control dimming principle does not optimally match the connected lamps; check operation in the "HV-LED leading edge phase control" setting, and reduce the connected load if necessary, or exchange the lamps for another type.

Why do LED lamps switch off or flicker in the lowest dimming position with my KNX GIRA?
    • R
      Ronald McdowellAug 30, 2025
If connected LED lamps or compact fluorescent lamps switch off in the lowest dimming position or flicker, the set minimum brightness might be too low. Try to increase the minimum brightness.

What to do if the KNX GIRA Controller output is off and not possible to switch on?
    • S
      Shawn EdwardsSep 1, 2025
If the KNX Controller output is off and it's not possible to switch it on, the cause may be a bus voltage failure. Check the bus voltage.

Why does my KNX Security Sensors light not switch off despite sufficient ambient lighting?
    • A
      Anne PowellSep 3, 2025
The device may be set as a motion detector and, therefore, does not evaluate the ambient lighting after reacting. To resolve this, check the programming and set and program the device as a presence detector. Alternatively, the brightness threshold may be set too high. In this case, decrease the brightness threshold using the remote control or parameter setting.

What to do if KNX Security Sensors light does not switch on despite motion detection and low lighting?
    • M
      Monica LeeSep 5, 2025
This issue may occur if the wrong function block is active. To solve it, change the function block switch-over. It can also happen if the brightness threshold set is too low. In that case, increase the brightness threshold with the remote control or parameter setting.

Why does KNX Security Sensors light switch on despite sufficient ambient lighting?
    • J
      john22Sep 7, 2025
This can occur if the signal function is active, causing the device to operate independently of the brightness. To fix this, check the programming. Alternatively, the device might be operating independently of the brightness. If so, adjust the brightness threshold with the remote control, or adjust the parameter setting for the brightness threshold.

What to do if KNX Security Sensors device responds even without any motion in the detection field?
    • A
      April OlsenSep 10, 2025
This issue could be due to interference sources in the detection field, or the device settings being too sensitive. To address this, limit the detection field, and remove any interference sources. You can also adjust the sensitivity by one level using the blue sensitivity switch (7) or with the remote control, or reduce the sensitivity in the parameter setting. In small spaces, the sensitivity should be reduced by 1 to 2 levels.
