8 Troubleshooting Problems

Troubleshooting - Camera
MMC/SD Card
Problem Cause Solution
The camera does not
recognize an MMC/
SD card.
The MMC/SD card
may not be certified.
Purchase a certified MMC/SD
card (page 8).
The MMC/SD card
may be corrupt.
Reformat the MMC/SD card
(page 26). Caution: Formatting
erases all pictures from the card.
No MMC/SD card is
inserted in camera
or it is not inserted
correctly.
Insert an MMC/SD card
(page 8).
Camera freezes up
when an MMC/SD
card is inserted or
removed.
Camera detected an
error when the
MMC/SD card was
inserted or removed.
Turn the camera off, then back
on. Make sure the camera is off
when inserting or removing an
MMC/SD card.
Access error The SD card is
locked.
Slide the SD card lock to the
Unlocked position.
Cannot copy pictures
from MMC/SD card
to internal memory.
Pictures cannot be
copied from a card
to internal memory.
