5. Remove the carbon deposits on the muffler cap,
muffler screen and spark arrester using a wire
brush.
NOTICE
When cleaning, use the wire brush lightly to avoid
damaging or scratching of the muffler cap, muffler
screen and spark arrester.
6. Check the muffler screen and spark arrester.
Replace them if damaged.
7. Install the spark arrester.
2. Loosen the muffler cap bolt and then remove the
muffler cap and muffler screen.

3. Use a flathead screw driver to pry the spark
arrester out from the muffler.

TIP
Align the spark arrester projection to the hole in the
muffler pipe.
