Lownoiseisakeyfactorforhighqualityandreliablemeasurements.Theperformanceof
theST90systemwillalwaysbelimitedbydifferentnoisesources.Ahighnoiselevelwill
masktheechoesandmakethemdifculttoreadandinterpret.Thenoiseismeasuredwhile
theST90systemoperatesinPassivemodewiththetransducerdisconnected.
Prerequisites
TheST90systemhasbeensetupwithitshardwareunitsconnectedasspeciedinthe
InstallationManual.ThehullunitandtheMotorControlUnitarereplacedwithahullunit
simulator.Thetransducerisreplacedwithadummyload.TheST90systemisturnedonand
operatesnormally.Neithertoolsnorinstrumentsarerequired.

Thistaskallowsyoutocheckthenoiseconditions.Tomeasurethenoiselevel,observethe
valuepresentedontheNoisepageintheDiagnosticsdialogbox.
