MIDI
- CHANNEL
This parameter is used
to
select a channel for data send
and receive. T
he
same channel must
be
spec
ified for
sending
and
receiving
da
ta
. (Different channels cannot
be
selected independently for send and receive.) At
power-
ON,
the data send/receive channel is set for t
hat
previously selected .
ENABLE
This selects which kinds
of
received MIDI
data
the
DW
-8000 will send and receive.
At
value 1 (NOTE
DATA), the DW-8000 sends and receiv
es
only
"note
data." At value 2 (All), it sends and rec
ei
ves all MIDI
data
spec
ifi
ed
in the
DW
-8000 MIDI specifications (im-
plementati
on
notes.)
For example, if you
don't
want program numbers to
be
changed
by
some external device through MIDI, then
set this value to
1.
The most recently selected ENABLE value is retained
when power is
tu
rned
on
and off.

Omn
i
mode
ON (value 1) is selected
by
default when the
power is turned on. When
Omn
i
mode
is
on, the DW-
8000 r
ece
iv
es
MIDI
da
ta
on
all channels (regardless
of
the parameter
84
setting). However,
Omni
mode can
also
be
turne
d on and off from the controlling (sending)
dev
ic
e.
When
Omn
i mode is off, then the DW-8000 re-
ceives MIDI
da
ta sent only on the MIDI channel speci-
fied
by
parame
t
er
84.
- ARP
CLOCK
(Arpeggio clock)
Determines
whe
ther t
he
Arpeggiator is operat
ed
by
the DW-8000's internal clock
or
it
is
operated
by
the
signals, including timing clock, start,
and
stop, sent
from external MIDI equipment.
Th
is par.ameter is also
used
for
rough adjustment
of
arpeggio speed.
