Summary

Input;Output Jacks

PHONES OUT

Output jack for stereo headphones, carrying the MIX OUT signal.

MIX OUT

Provides a mixed signal of synthesizer and strings sections.

SEPARATE OUT

Jacks for separate synthesizer and strings signals for individual processing.

TRIGGER

Provides trigger signals for controlling other equipment or receiving external triggers.

CUT-OFF FREQUENCY MODULATION (fcM)

Input jack for external control of the VCF cut-off frequency.

Front Panel Controls

JOY STICK

Controls pitch bend, vibrato, and other effects; operates with the control section.

JOY STICK CONTROL SECTION

Selects and adjusts the intensity of effects produced by the joy stick.

MOODULATION GENERATOR (MG)

Generates cyclic modulation effects like vibrato and auto-wah using an LFO.

TUNE

Adjusts overall pitch to match other instruments and allows octave shifts.

Signal Generators

SIGNAL GENERATOR (SG)

Controls basic tone color using drawbar-type slide controls for synthesizer section.

Voltage Controlled Filter (VCF)

CUT-OFF FREQUENCY (fc)

Sets the frequency point where high frequencies are reduced, shaping the tone color.

RESONANCE

Adjusts the amount of resonance at the VCF cut-off frequency for tonal emphasis.

EG DEPTH

Adjusts the impact of the envelope generator on the VCF cut-off frequency.

FILTER MODE

Selects between low-pass and band-pass filter modes for different tonal characteristics.

KBD FOLLOWER

Automatically varies VCF cut-off frequency based on the highest key played on the keyboard.

Envelope Generator (EG)

ATTACK (A)

Controls how quickly the volume rises after a key is pressed.

DECAY (D)

Controls the time it takes for volume to drop from maximum to sustain level.

SUSTAIN (S)

Sets the sustained volume level after the decay phase, while a key is held.

RELEASE (R)

Controls how long the sound fades after a key is released.

VCA EG MDDE

Determines if EG settings control volume or only affect VCF fc.

TRIG MODE

Selects single or multiple trigger operation for EG, affecting how notes are sequenced.

Strings

OCT BALANCE

Adjusts the mixture of 16' and 8' components in the string sound.

ATTACK

Adjusts the attack time for the string sound.

RELEASE

Adjusts the release time for the string sound.

TRIG MODE

Selects single or multiple trigger operation for the strings section.

EQUALIZER

Bass and treble controls to adjust string sound tone color and compensate amplifier response.

Volume Controls

Sy and St Controls

Separate controls for adjusting synthesizer and strings section volumes independently.

Master Volume

Controls overall volume and also serves as the power switch for the unit.
