Do you have a question about the kruss DS7000 Series and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The A.KRÜSS Optronic DS7000 series density meter is a precision instrument designed for accurate density measurements across various industries. It operates on the frequency oscillator principle, offering ease of use and efficient measurement within minutes, typically 1-3 minutes, including tempering. The device is equipped with an integrated Peltier temperature control system, allowing for highly accurate temperature regulation between 10°C and 40°C.

Function Description:

The DS7000 series density meters measure density by filling a sample into a swinging tube. The change in the oscillating frequency, due to the altered oscillation mass, enables the determination of the sample's density. The device can be operated in several configurations:

  • With drying unit DS7050: For manual sample filling, rinsing, and drying.
  • With drying unit DS7050 and peristaltic pump DS7070: For manual and semi-automatic sample filling, rinsing, and drying.
  • With drying unit DS7060 and peristaltic pump DS7070: For manual and semi-automatic sample filling, rinsing, and drying without the need to unplug and plug in hose connectors, thanks to its 3/2-way butterfly valve.

The peristaltic pump DS7070, when connected, facilitates semi-automatic sample filling, cleaning, and drying of the frequency oscillator. Its flow rate can be adjusted via variable rotation speed, and a time-controlled start/stop mode allows for precise dosage of fixed volumes. The DS7000 features glass frequency oscillators, allowing visual inspection for bubble-free filling.

The measurement process is initiated by pressing a button. The density meter automatically waits for the sample to reach the desired temperature before starting the measurement. Results are displayed on the touchscreen, saved in an SQL database, and can be printed or exported.

Maintenance Features:

  • Low Maintenance: The DS7000 is designed for extremely low maintenance and long-lasting operation.
  • Silica Gel Cartridge: Both drying units (DS7050 and DS7060) include a cartridge with silica gel to dry the sucked-in air. The silica gel should be replaced when discolored, as it indicates a loss of moisture absorption capacity.
  • Fuse Replacement: Instructions are provided for safely changing the fuse, which requires disconnecting the device from the mains power supply.
  • Cleaning:
    • Daily: Clean the frequency oscillator with distilled water or a compatible solvent after each measurement.
    • Weekly: Clean the display and casing with neutral cleaning products. Aggressive chemicals should be cleaned immediately.
