Measure the material thickness on the bottom of the chain guide.
Minimum distance at the lowest
position
13 mm (0.51 in)
» If distance is less than the specified measurement:
Change the chain guide. x

Check the chain guide for tightness.
» If the chain guide is loose:
Tighten the chain guide.
Guideline
Remaining screws, chassis M6 10 Nm
(7.4 lbf ft)
Install the chain guard. ( p. 38)
Remove the motorcycle from the lift stand. ( p. 26)
10.37Adjusting the chain guide x
Info
The size of the chain wheel varies with the number of teeth. The chain guide can be adjusted on small sprockets.
Remove the chain guard. ( p. 38)

Loosen screw .
Position the chain guide.
Tighten screw.
Guideline
Remaining screws, chassis M6 10 Nm (7.4 lbf ft)
Install the chain guard. ( p. 38)

Check the frame for cracking and deformation.
» If the frame exhibits cracking or deformation due to a mechanical impact:
Change the frame. x

A frame that has been damaged due to a mechanical impact must
always be changed. Repair of the frame is not authorized by KTM.
10.39Checking the swingarm x

Check the swingarm for damage, cracking, and deformation.
» If the swingarm exhibits damage, cracking, or deformation:
Change the swingarm. x
Info
Always replace a damaged swingarm. Repair of the swingarm is not
authorized by KTM.
