Program Mode

Output: Pan, Gain, and Mode
WhentheLayerFXModeparameterissettoLayer‐SpecificFXontheLYR_FXpage,three
additionalparametersappearontheOUTPUTpage:OutPan,OutGain,andOutPanMode.
TheseparametersareanalogoustotheoutputparametersontheCOMMONpage,butarelayer‐
specific—theCOMMONoutputparameters
applytoalllayers.Youcanusetheoutput
parametersontheOUTPUTpagetoadjustthepanningandgainofthepost‐FXsignalofthe
currentlayer.
Pan Table
Thefactorypresetpantablesarekey‐specificpanningschemesbywhichthenotethateachkey
producesisuniquelypanned.Thesetablesareparticularlyusefulforproducingthest ereo
imageofadrumsetwhencreatingpercussionprograms,orforproducingthestereoimageofa
pianowhencreatingpiano
programs.
Crossfade and Crossfade Sense (XFadeSense)
TheCrossfadeparameterletsyouselectacontrolsourcetofadethecurrentlayer’samplitude
fromzerotomaximum.WhenXFadeSenseisNormal,thelayerisatfullamplitude whenthe
Crossfadecontrolisat minimum.WithXFadeSensesettoReverse,thelayerisatzeroamplitude
whentheCrossfade
controlisatminimum.
ThisparameterissimilartotheSrc1andDepthparametersfortheAmpfunctiononthe
DSPCTLandDSPMODpages,buttheattenuationcurvefortheCrossfadeparameteris
optimizedspecificallyforcrossfades.
Tocrossfadetwolayersinthesameprogram,assignthesamecontrolsourcefor
theCrossFade
parametersinbothlayers,thensetoneoftheirXFadeSenseparameterstoavalueofNorm,and
theother’stoRvrs.
Drum Remap
TheDrumRemapparametershouldgenerallynotbechanged.Thisparameterlets thePC3K
knowhowdrumprogramsaremappedsothatdrumsoundscanbeproperlyremappedwhen
usingtheGeneralMIDI(GM)drummap(seebelow.)Kurz1designatesthatthecurrentdrum
programwasoriginallyaPC2program,and
thatitusesthePC2drummap(programs113‐119
usethismap.)Kurz2designatesthatthecurrentdrumkitusesthenewPC3Kdrummap(all
otherfactorydrumprogramsusethismap:120,241‐248,369‐376.)Thenewdrummapissimilar
tothatofthePC2,
excepttom‐tomsoundshavebeenmovedintooctaveC3‐C4,sotheyaremore
easilyplayablewiththemainkickandsnaredrumsoundsinthatoctave.Wheneditingakit,
makesuretofollowthelayoutofthedrummapbeingusedifyouwanttobeableto
properly
remapthekittotheGMdrummap.ProgramsthathavetheDrumRemapparametersettoOff
willnotbeviewedbythePC3Kasdrumprogramsandwillnotbeaffectedwhenremappingto
theGMdrummap.
