2. Use a brush to remove carbon deposits from the spark
arrester screen. Be careful to avoid damaging the spark
arrester screen. The spark arrester must be free of
breaks and holes. Replace, if necessary. Check the
gasket. Replace, if necessary.
3. Install the spark arrester and the gasket in the muffler
and tighten the three bolts securely.
POTENTIAL HAZARD
Improper cleaning of the spark arrester. Hot exhaust system.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
Could injure the eyes. Could cause burns.
Could cause carbon monoxide poisoning, possibly leading to
death.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
When cleaning the spark arrester:
Always let the exhaust system cool prior to touching exhaust
components
Do not start the engine when cleaning the exhaust system.
