I From the [System Preferences] menu, click [Quit System Preferences].
Connecting the machine using USB to Mac OS X 10.5
Use this procedure to connect the machine under a USB connection to a compu-
ter running Mac OS X 10.5.
A Connect the machine and the computer via a USB cable, and then turn on
the machine.
B From the Apple menu, select [System Preferences...].
C Under "Hardware", click [Print & Fax].
D Check the list of printers for the machine name.
E Click [Options & Supplies...].
F Click the [Driver] tab, check the tray 2 configuration, and then click [OK].
G From the [System Preferences] menu, click [Quit System Preferences].
Connecting the machine via a network to Mac OS X 10.4 (IP Printer)
Use this procedure to connect the machine via a network to a computer running
Mac OS X 10.4.
A Connect the machine and the computer via network cable.
B From the Apple menu, select [System Preferences...].
C Under "Hardware", click [Print & Fax].
D Click the [+] (add) button in the lower left area of the [Print & Fax] dialog box.
E Click the [IP Printer] icon in the menu.
F In the [Address], type the machine's IP address.
Select [LPD] for as the protocol, and leave the queue blank.
G If [Print Using:] shows the machine, click [Add], and then proceed to step
J

If the machine name is not shown, proceed to step

.
H Select the manufacturer name for [Print Using:].
I Select the machine from the list, and then click [Add].
J In the [Installable Options] dialog box, check the tray 2 configuration, and
then click [Continue].
K Check that the machine's IP address is shown in the [Print & Fax] dialog box.
