Overview

This document is a user manual for the Lamona LAM1750 hob, an appliance designed for cooking in a household environment. It provides essential information on safety, installation, daily use, care, cleaning, troubleshooting, and guarantee details.

Function Description

The Lamona LAM1750 hob is a built-in electric cooking appliance featuring five radiant heating zones. It is operated via a touch-sensitive control panel located on the front of the hob. The hob allows users to activate and deactivate cooking zones, adjust heat settings, and utilize various functions to enhance the cooking experience.

Usage Features

  • Activation and Deactivation: The hob is activated or deactivated by touching the ON/OFF sensor field for one second.
  • Automatic Switch Off: The hob incorporates an automatic switch-off function for safety and energy saving. It deactivates if all cooking zones are off, no heat setting is selected after activation, an object is placed on the control panel for more than 10 seconds (accompanied by an acoustic signal), or if a cooking zone is left active without a change in heat setting for an extended period. The duration before automatic deactivation varies depending on the heat setting, ranging from 6 hours for settings 1-2 to 1.5 hours for settings 6-9.
  • Heat Setting Adjustment: Heat settings are adjusted using a control bar. Users can touch the bar at the desired setting or slide their finger along it to reach the correct heat level. Heat settings are displayed numerically from 0 (deactivated) to 9 (highest).
  • Outer Ring Activation/Deactivation: For cooking zones with multiple rings, the outer ring can be activated or deactivated to match the size of the cookware. This is done by touching a dedicated sensor field.
  • Automatic Heat Up: This function allows for faster heating. When activated, a cooking zone operates at its highest setting initially and then automatically adjusts to the desired heat setting. This function is only available when the cooking zone is cold.
  • Count Down Timer: A timer can be set for individual cooking zones to control the cooking duration. After setting the heat, users can select the cooking zone and then adjust the time (00-99 minutes) using dedicated sensor fields. The timer indicator flashes slowly while counting down. Once the time expires, an acoustic signal sounds, "00" flashes, and the cooking zone deactivates. The sound can be stopped by touching a sensor field.
  • Minute Minder: This function acts as a separate timer that can be used when the hob is active but no cooking zones are operating. It displays "0" on the heat setting display. Similar to the count-down timer, it can be set for 00-99 minutes, and an acoustic signal sounds when the time is up. This function does not affect the operation of cooking zones.
  • Pause Function: The pause function sets all operating cooking zones to the lowest heat setting (1). When active, all other control panel symbols are locked, but timer functions continue. It is activated and deactivated by touching a specific sensor field.
  • Lock Function: The control panel can be locked while cooking zones are in operation to prevent accidental changes to heat settings. This function is activated by touching a sensor field for 4 seconds after setting the heat. It is deactivated by touching the same sensor field. Deactivating the hob also deactivates the lock function.
  • Child Safety Device: This feature prevents accidental operation of the hob. It can be activated by activating the hob, not setting a heat, and then touching a specific sensor field for 4 seconds. It is deactivated similarly. There is also an option to override the function for a single cooking time by activating the hob, touching the sensor field for 4 seconds, and then setting the heat within 10 seconds.
  • Power Management: The hob incorporates a power management system that divides power between cooking zones connected to the same electrical phase. If the total electricity load exceeds 3700 W on a single phase, the function decreases power to other zones on that phase, indicated by the heat setting display changing between two levels.

Maintenance Features

  • Regular Cleaning: The hob should be cleaned after each use to prevent surface deterioration. It is important to deactivate the appliance and allow it to cool down before cleaning.
  • Cleaning Materials: Use a moist soft cloth and neutral detergents. Abrasive products, abrasive cleaning pads, solvents, or metal objects should not be used. Water spray and steam cleaners are also prohibited.
  • Specific Stains:
    • Melted plastic, foil, sugar, or sugary food: Remove immediately with a special hob scraper at an acute angle to prevent damage.
    • Limescale, water, fat stains, shiny metallic discoloration: Remove when the hob is sufficiently cool using a moist cloth and a non-abrasive detergent. Wipe dry with a soft cloth.
    • Shiny metallic discoloration: Can also be cleaned with a solution of water and vinegar.
  • Cookware Care: Always use cookware with a clean and flat base. Cookware made of enamelled steel, aluminium, or copper bottoms can cause color changes on the glass-ceramic surface. Always lift cookware when moving it on the cooking surface to avoid scratches.
  • Service and Spare Parts: For repairs, contact an Authorised Service Centre and use only original spare parts.
  • Troubleshooting Guide: The manual includes a troubleshooting section to help users identify and resolve common issues, such as the hob not activating, error messages, or sensor fields becoming hot. It provides possible causes and recommended remedies. If a solution cannot be found, users are advised to contact their dealer or an Authorised Service Centre with specific product information.
