4.2 SOLOnet Windows Configurator Software
These instructions detail how to install and use the SOLOnet Windows
Configurator Software. This allows a SOLOnet thermometer to be configured
from a laptop or PC, via an RS485 connection.
• Access the SOLOnet Resource Disk ‘Main Menu’.
• Click the ‘Software and Utilities’ tab.
• Click the ‘Install Configurator’ tab to open the SOLOnet ‘InstallShield
Wizard’.
• Follow and confirm the ‘Wizard’ prompts to install the software. A SOLOnet
icon is automatically placed on the ‘Desktop’ when installation is
successful.
• Double-click the SOLOnet icon on the ‘Desktop’ to initiate the Configurator
software. The ‘Home’ page is displayed by default (see Fig. 32).
Note
If ‘Live Data’ on the ‘Home’ page is not displayed (greyed out), the
laptop/PC comms and the thermometer comms have to be
synchronised.
If ‘Live Data’ is ‘greyed out’;
• Click on the ‘Comms’ tab in the top toolbar of the ‘Home’ page.
• From the ‘Comms’ drop-down menu (see Fig. 33 - ‘485 Settings’ sub
menu) set the following:
‘Serial Port’
(serial port connecting laptop/PC and thermometer, default set to ‘1’)
‘Baud Rate’
(data transfer rate between thermometer and laptop/PC, default set to
‘57600’)
‘Address’
(the designated thermometer number in series, default set to ‘1’)
When all three ‘485 Settings’ are synchronised between laptop/PC and
thermometer, the dynamic ‘Live Data’ is then displayed.
