APPENDIX C
Manual Configuration of Network Settings (Multiple Applications)
All SN-W/E interface units are supplied with a default IP address (10.1.10.200).
Therefore, when multiple units are first used in a stand-alone network, it is
necessary to manually assign each unit, in turn, with an unique IP address that
differs from the default (eg. 10.1.10.201, 10.1.10.202 etc) and that does not
clash with any device already assigned on the network. This ensures that
communication is specific and without conflicts.
• Connect the SN-W/E interface unit to a configured laptop/PC using a
‘straight’ Ethernet cable
• Access the ‘Device Discovery’ utility on the SOLOnet CD
• All devices on the network are displayed, with details.
• Highlight the relevant device (10.1.10.200) to show the ‘Device Tasks’
menu
• From the ‘Device Tasks’ menu, select ‘Configure Network Settings’
• Ensure that the ‘Manually Configure Network Settings’ option is checked
• Enter the required IP address, ensuring that it does not clash with any
already assigned (including the laptop or configuring PC)
• Click ‘Save’ and verify the ‘Restart Device’ prompt
• The ‘Device Discovery’ utility automatically refreshes and the new
information is displayed. To confirm and check the web browser interface,
highlight and double-click on the relevant IP address
• Carry out the above instructions, for all other SN-W/E interface units
utilised in the system
