10.3 Troubleshooting
Before informing the LAUDA Service department, please check whether
you can solve the problem with the following instructions.
Table 43: Process thermostat
Fault
Cause ð Possible remedy
The device cools very slowly or not at all.
n The cooling unit is switched o ð switch on the cooling
unit.
n The controller output limit is active ð Switch o the
controller output limit.
n The condenser is contaminated ð Clean the condenser
Ä Chapter 9.4 “Cleaning the air-cooled condenser”
on page 142.
n The temperature limit value Til is too high ð Reduce
the temperature limit value Til.
The device heats only very slightly or not at all.
n The controller output limit is active ð Switch o the
controller output limit.
n The temperature limit value Til is too low ð Increase the
temperature limit value Til.
n The dynamic heating output restriction is active ð
switch o the dynamic heating output restriction.
n The maximum heating output is automatically reduced
in the lower pump levels ð increase the pump level.
n The maximum current consumption of the device is
limited ð increase the current consumption.
Pump level cannot be set.
n Pressure control is active ð switch o pressure control
(pressure control is switched o if set pressure = 0 bar).
Degassing functions poorly.
n Pressure control is active ð switch o the pressure
control.
n Pump level is too high ð select a lower pump level.
n Heating output is too high ð reduce the heating
output.
n Cooling unit is active ð switch o cooling unit.
n Heat transfer liquid is heavily contaminated ð change
the heat transfer liquid. Empty the device completely
and carry out internal cleaning of the device if required.
n The filler nozzle is closed ð remove the tank lid and
place it loosely on the filler nozzle.
n IN 2560 XTW: Connect the inert gas blanket, with
compressed air for pure degassing if necessary.
Cooling unit starts several times in quick succession
n Normal function (special start), no remedy necessary
The cooling unit is in operation for a few minutes, although
no cooling is necessary.
n Normal function (protection function), no remedy nec-
essary
