ThistopicprovidesinstructionsonhowtoinstalltheHyper-VServer2012operatingsystem.
ToinstalltheHyper-VServer2012operatingsystem,dothefollowing:
1.Inserttheoperatingsysteminstallationdiscintotheopticaldrivethatyouhavesetastherststartup
device.Then,starttheserverfromtheopticaldrive.
2.WhenthemessagePressanykeytobootfromcdordvd...isdisplayed,pressanykey.Ifthemessage
WindowsSetup[EMSEnabled]isdisplayed,pressEnter.Waitseveralminutesforthesystemtoload
theles.
3.WhentheMicrosoftHyper-VServer2012...windowisdisplayed,congurethelanguageandother
optionsasyouneedandthenclickNext.
4.ClickInstallnow.
5.ReadthelicensetermsandselectIacceptthelicenseterms.Then,clickNext.
6.Selectthetypeofinstallationasyouneed.ThefollowingstepsarebasedonthescenariothatCustom:
InstallthenewerversionofHyper-VServeronly(advanced)isselectedinthisstep.
7.OntheWheredoyouwanttoinstallWindows?window,connecttheUSBstoragedevicethatcontains
thedrivertoyourserverandclickLoadDriver.
8.BrowsetothefolderwherethedriverisstoredandclickOK.
9.SelectHidedriversthataren’tcompatiblewiththiscomputer’shardware,andthenselectthedriver
thatyouwanttoinstallonyourserver.ClickNext.
10.OntheWheredoyouwanttoinstallWindows?window,clickDriveoptions(advanced).
11.Selecttheharddiskdriveonwhichyouwanttoinstalltheoperatingsystem,andthenclickNew.
12.Typetheamountofspace(inMB),andthenclickApply.
13.OntheInstallWindowswindow,clickOK.
14.Ensurethatthedrivepartitioniscorrect,andthenclickNext.Theinstallationbegins.
Note:Y ourserverwillrestartseveraltimesduringtheinstallation.
15.Whenprompted,pressCtrl+Alt+Delete.
16.ClickAdministrator.Followtheinstructionsonthescreentochangethepasswordandthenlog
intotheoperatingsystem.
Installingthedriverforthechipset
Toinstallthedriverforthechipset,dothefollowing:
1.CopythedriverforthechipsetfromtheThinkServerEasyStartupDVDthatcomeswithyourservertoa
USBstoragedevice.ConnecttheUSBstoragedevicetoyourserver.
2.Usethefollowingcommandstoinstallthedriverforthechipset.
