11.Aftertherecoverysessioniscompleted,theseriesofbeepswillend,andthesystemwillautomatically
turnoff.

13.MovetheClearCMOS/Recoveryjumperbacktothestandardposition(pin1andpin2).
14.Reinstallanypartsandreconnectanycablesthathavebeenremovedordisconnected.
15.Reinstallthecomputercoverandreconnectanycablesthatweredisconnected.
16.Turnonthecomputerandremovethediscfromtheopticaldrive.
Powermanagement
Powermanagementreducesthepowerconsumptionofcertaincomponentsofthecomputersuchasthe
systempowersupply,processor,harddiskdrives,andsomemonitors.
Automaticcongurationandpowerinterface(ACPI)BIOS
BeinganACPIBIOSsystem,theoperatingsystemisallowedtocontrolthepowermanagementfeatures
ofthecomputerandthesettingforAdvancedPowerManagement(APM)BIOSmodeisignored.Not
alloperatingsystemssupportACPIBIOSmode.
AutomaticPower-Onfeatures
TheAutomaticPower-OnfeatureswithinthePowerManagementmenuallowyoutoenableanddisable
featuresthatturnonthecomputerautomatically.
SerialPortARingDetect:WiththisfeaturesettoEnabledandanexternalmodemconnectedtoserial
port(COM1),thecomputerwillturnonautomaticallywhenaringisdetectedonthemodem.
PCIModemRingDetect:WiththisfeaturesettoEnabled,thecomputerwillturnonautomatically
whenaringisdetectedontheinternalmodem.
PCIWakeUp:ThisfeatureallowsPCIcardsthatsupportthiscapabilitytowakethesystem.
WakeUponAlarm:Youcanspecifyadateandtimeatwhichthecomputerwillbeturnedon
automatically.Thiscanbeeitherasingleeventoradailyevent.
WakeonLAN:Ifthecomputerhasaproperlyconguredtoken-ringorEthernetLANadaptercardthatis
WakeonLAN-enabledandthereisremotenetworkmanagementsoftware,youcanusetheWakeonLAN
feature.WhenyousetWakeonLANtoEnabled,thecomputerwillturnonwhenitreceivesaspecic
signalfromanothercomputeronthelocalareanetwork(LAN).
Systemmemoryspeed
TheIntelXeonmicroprocessorfamiliescompatiblewiththisThinkStationcomputerfeatureanintegrated
memorycontroller,whichprovidesthemicroprocessorwithdirectaccesstothesystemmemory.Because
ofthisdesign,thesystemmemoryspeedwillbedeterminedbyanumberoffactors,includingthe
microprocessormodelandthetype,speed,size(capacity),andnumberofDIMMsinstalled.Refertothe
followingtablefortheinformationonthesupportedsystemmemoryspeedforyourcomputermodel.
