Apasswordcanbeanycombinationofupto12(1to12)alphabeticandnumericcharacters.Forsecurity
reasons,itisrecommendedtouseastrongpasswordthatcannotbeeasilycompromised.Tosetastrong
password,usethefollowingguidelines:

•Haveatleasteightcharactersinlength
•Containatleastonealphabeticcharacterandonenumericcharacter
•Notbeyournameoryourusername
•Notbeacommonwordoracommonname
•Besignicantlydifferentfromyourpreviouspasswords
Administratorpassword
TheSetAdministratorPasswordoptionenablesyoutosetanadministratorpassword,whichdeters
unauthorizedusersfromchangingcongurationsettings.Ifyouareresponsibleformaintainingthesettings
ofseveralcomputers,youmightwanttosetanadministratorpassword.Formoreinformationonhowtoset

Afteryouhavesetanadministratorpassword,apasswordpromptisdisplayedeachtimeyoutrytoaccess
theSetupUtilityprogram.YoucannotaccesstheSetupUtilityprogramuntilavalidpasswordistypedin.
Ifyouhavesetbothauserpasswordandanadministratorpassword,youcantypeeitherpasswordtouse
yourcomputer.However,tochangeanycongurationsettings,youmustuseyouradministratorpassword.
UserPassword
AfteryouhavesetauserpasswordusingtheSetUserPasswordoption,thecomputercannotbeuseduntil
avalidpasswordistypedin.

2.FromtheSetupUtilityprogrammainmenu,selectSecurity®SetPasswords.
3.Dependingonthepasswordtype,selectSetAdministratorPasswordorSetUserPassword.
4.Followtheinstructionsonthescreentoset,change,ordeleteapassword.
